One deviantart member said to me, "Oh and if God loves us so much, why does he send half of humanity to hell for the most ridiculous things? because he's so 'loving'? Hypocrisy at it's finest." No offense to the DA member, but this question was all I needed to start my next journal topic about Hell. In the first journal, we read that Hell is a place of endless torment originally for the fallen angels who rebelled against God. (Ezekiel 28:12-19, Isaiah 14:12-16) After the fall of Adam, sin imparted to all humanity, making us all born as sinners and Hell bound. (Romans 5:12-14) God became a man [Jesus Christ], He became a sacrifice for our sins to save us from Hell. The bottom line is John 3:16 which clearly says, "For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten ( [a] unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life." NOW we can go back to the title which asked: "How could a loving God send a soul to HELL?"
Lets first understand that God is very loving as John 3:16 and other scriptures says. The only true way for God to send a soul to Hell is if one does not have the Holy Spirit, Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3) So does this mean that an unrepentant serial killer can commit mass murders and wont go to Heaven simply because he didnt have Christ as his savior? Yes, but dont worry, For we know Him Who said, Vengeance is Mine [retribution and the meting out of full justice rest with Me]; I will repay [I will exact the compensation], says the Lord. And again, The Lord will judge and determine and solve and settle the cause and the cases of His people. (Hebrews 10:30) Now some people may still ask, but isnt God full of grace and mercy? Yes, He is, but God is also a God of Justice; He can not break His own rules simply because half of humanity perceive certain sins as righteous. (1 Cor. 6:9-10) Besides, would it be loving of God to allow even the most heinous, unrepentant souls into Heaven? And finally, what about John 3:16? I know some may feel as if they have no choice to accept Christ as their savior---which would be a smart move if you want salvation, but HELL is a choice, too. We have a free will, and yes, one can decide to ignore the gospel and choose the many paths to Hell.
The whole free will topic is interesting. I hope to do a journal on free will soon, Lord willingly. [/digress]
2 Peter 3:9 says The Lord does not delay and is not tardy or slow about what He promises, according to some people's conception of slowness, but He is long-suffering (extraordinarily patient) toward you, not desiring that any should perish, but that all should turn to repentance. God doesnt want anyone to perish which is why His sacrifice was not just for those who are predestined, but for everyone in the world. (Matthew 9:13) Remember, it is only if one believes on Jesus Christ as Romans 10:9-10 says, Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation.Salvation is FREE, but time is running out. Choose life. God bless, take care; stay tuned.

Surely enough, the passage reads: "Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who are elect exiles of the dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,"

Did you know that Jesus Christ preached on Hell more times than he did about Heaven? It's because God knows just how awful Hell is, and because He loves us all so very much, God became a man, (Jesus Christ)He became a sacrifice to our sins, He went to Hell and conquered death, (where I believe Jesus preached to those who did not here the gospel before his time) AND finally, on the third day, Jesus came out of the tomb---resurrected.
It's not God's will for us to perish, but again, we humans have the choice to either believe on Him for our salvation, or...to just do without.

But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Well, nice work girl, but the reasons why God sends somebody to hell depend on the person n the situation, don't u think?

Como un beso prometido
a tu alma es mi voz.
Soy lo muerto y lo vivido
soy la calma, soy tu dios.
Cierra los ojos y te llevaré
donde los sueños se hacen canción.
La vida duele, te curaré
duérmete y sueña, te acuna mi voz...
Show me where you got it in the passage. Show me where I was wrong in the context.
The Greek word used in John 3:16, Kosmos, does not always mean "everyone." In fact, it rarely does. Strong's Greek Concordance points it out very plainly. Luk 2:1; Rom 1:8; 3:19; Col 1:6; Rev 3:10; 12:9; 13:3 all speak of the "whole world." It would be insane to say the whole world was taxed. The point of this passage is to point out to the Jews who thought Christ came solely for -them- really had come for men of every tribe, tongue, and nation.
Your final assertion is quite funny- "I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners..." No one is righteous. We are not called based on righteousness. We are called based on God's will. Its simply foolish to say that anyone believes that they are more righteous, and that is why they were elected- that is unless they believe their choice to follow God was what saved them.
Some of this may not make sense to you. Since this may be true, I will link you to a study that explains these things.
